On the Necessity of Looking from Different Angles

The art of photography as an analogy of living a full life.

Life should be lived as we frame events through our camera. From atypical perspectives and angles. Under singular light, shade and nuance.

The opposite scares me. Narrow thinking leads to a limited appreciation of life. A society where citizens are zombies. Without asking any questions, just waiting for, we don’t even know what.

This is how we can find solutions to our problems. We can realize that our thought process is more powerful than we imagined. Moreover, we must trust it. Not just consume what others are saying without forming our judgement. This is how society moves forward.

Be a loner. That gives you time to wonder, to search for the truth. Have holy curiosity. Make your life worth living. -Albert Einstein

There is always an angle that we hadn’t pictured. To see the scene from a bird’s eye view, where should you go? Which technology can you use? Instead of saying it is impossible. Going underground to see from below. Add layers and texture to see through other objects. Through other humans. Deform. Frame it differently from the horizontal and vertical life we are accustomed to — exaggerate to highlight a theme. Push technology beyond its capacity. Test different tools. Do visual research. Go at different times of the day to feel the place. Chat with the locals.

Know what you are looking for. At least, try to find it.

I write, so I don’t forget the fundamental principles of life. I believe we should make the most of the opportunity to be a human on Earth.
